Paris-based startup Arlequin AI has secured €28 million, approximately $32 million, in a Series A funding round. The investment was led by Redalpine and OTB Ventures, with participation from Bpifrance’s Defense Innovation Fund. Existing investors Vsquared Ventures and 10x Founders also increased their stakes, joined by new backers Xavier Niel and Zebox.

The company is developing an AI architecture based on topological neural networks, which differ from traditional graph-based models. This approach allows the system to analyze complex relationships within heterogeneous data, including documents, transactions, and video. The technology is designed to trace outcomes back to root causes, with potential applications in cybersecurity, fraud detection, and defense.

Arlequin AI claims its proprietary architecture requires significantly less compute power than standard models, reducing energy consumption and hardware reliance. The company is collaborating with research institutions, including the French National Center for Scientific Research, the Max Planck Institute, and universities such as Oxford, Cornell, and Princeton.

The fresh capital will support the expansion of the company's international team and accelerate commercial deployment. Arlequin AI has already established offices in London and Berlin and intends to open an AI laboratory in Silicon Valley in the coming months.
