Apple is set to unveil its new smart home display, currently referred to as HomePad, on October 13. The announcement will also include a new HomePod mini smart speaker and an updated Apple TV set-top box. All three devices will feature integration with the updated Siri AI assistant.

The smart display will feature a 6-inch screen with a thickness comparable to an iPhone and bezels similar to older iPad models. The design includes a circular metal base housing speakers and microphones, along with a metal stand that allows for screen tilt adjustment. A wall-mounted version with a slimmer base is also expected.

The device will be available in a silver aluminum finish and will be powered via a USB Type-C port, as it lacks a built-in battery. The software will run iPad-style applications and support features such as smart home control, video calls, music playback, photo slideshows, intercom functionality, and user identification via face and voice recognition.
