Apple is unlikely to introduce a major redesign for its upcoming foldable iPhone Duo in the second generation, according to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman. The company has shifted its strategy toward maintaining consistent hardware designs over extended periods rather than implementing rapid annual changes.
This trend is evident across Apple's current product lineup. The MacBook Air and MacBook Pro have retained their design language for five years, while the Apple Watch Ultra 4 mirrors the aesthetics of the original 2022 model. AirPods have also seen minimal external changes over the years.
This approach marks a departure from Apple's earlier practices. Between 2010 and 2013, the company introduced four distinct tablet designs, including the original iPad, iPad 2, iPad mini, and iPad Air. Gurman notes that the current corporate environment makes a return to such frequent design cycles highly improbable.
