The upcoming Apple smart home hub, internally codenamed J490, is expected to be available in four distinct color options. According to information extracted from the macOS 26.7 RC1 system code, these colors include silver, space gray, starlight, and rose pink.
The device is reportedly set to feature a 6-inch display and will operate on the homeOS platform. Technical specifications suggest the hub will be equipped with 8GB of RAM. Apple is also planning to integrate a specific setup process for a feature called Photo Face.
The system is designed to detect the hardware color of the device during initial configuration. It will then automatically select a matching preview image for the Photo Face interface. The product launch is currently anticipated for October 13.
