Apple is reportedly developing a high-end smart home hub, internally codenamed J595, which features a motorized robotic arm. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the device is designed to rotate 360 degrees on its base and can automatically orient itself toward the user via voice recognition.
The hardware is expected to include a 9-inch display, positioning it as a companion-style device rather than a direct successor to existing models. While the final branding remains uncertain, the company may market the product with a suffix such as Max or Ultra when it launches.
The project leverages robotics technology previously explored by the company for its automotive initiatives. Reports from August 2024 indicated that the development team was working on a design concept combining an iPad-like screen with a robotic arm, with a potential market release as early as 2027.
