Apple is reportedly developing the second generation of its MacBook Neo laptop, with a release window projected for the first half of 2027. The original model, which launched in March 2026, achieved strong market performance that exceeded initial expectations.
The upcoming iteration is expected to feature the A19 processor and an increase in base memory from 8GB to 12GB. These hardware improvements aim to enhance performance for multitasking, web browsing, and AI-related tasks compared to the current A18 Pro-based model.
Design updates may include new color options, continuing the product's focus on students and entry-level users. The current lineup is available in blush pink, citrus yellow, indigo, and silver.
Pricing for the new model remains uncertain. The original MacBook Neo launched at $599 and $699, but Apple increased these prices by $100 in June 2026, citing global chip shortages. The company may maintain current pricing if supply chain conditions stabilize.
