According to Bloomberg, Apple is planning to introduce a 14-inch MacBook Pro featuring an OLED touchscreen. The starting price for this new model is expected to be $2,899, which represents a 16.01% increase compared to the current M5 Pro version. This marks a price hike of $400.
The 16-inch OLED model is also projected to see a similar price increase of $400, potentially bringing its starting price to $3,399. However, reports suggest that the final retail price for the larger model could be even higher than this estimate.
Apple intends to keep the existing Mini LED MacBook Pro models on the market alongside the new OLED versions. This strategy allows users who do not require touchscreen functionality to continue purchasing the more affordable traditional hardware.
The new MacBook Pro will retain the M5 Pro and M5 Max chips found in current models. Key design updates include a Dynamic Island, thinner bezels, a lighter chassis, and a redesigned hinge to ensure screen stability during touch interaction. The cooling system has also been upgraded to improve airflow.
