Apple is collaborating with LG to develop a new line of smart home hardware. The upcoming product range includes a smart lock, a thermostat, and a doorbell. These devices are designed to function within the ecosystem of Apple’s new smart home hub, which is expected to launch on October 13.
The planned smart home hub will feature a 6-inch square display, suitable for wall mounting or placement on a countertop. Additionally, the partnership covers the development of various security cameras, including indoor, outdoor, and floodlight models. These products will be branded under the LG name.
The new hardware is expected to be announced or released as early as next week. This initiative marks a strategic expansion of Apple into the smart home market, positioning its offerings against existing solutions from competitors like Amazon and its Ring security product line.
