Anthropic has launched Claude Duet, an AI agent application designed for professionals and small businesses. The tool focuses on task automation, such as generating daily briefings, creating dashboards, and suggesting actions based on user data. It operates in the background via a virtual machine, requesting user approval for specific tasks.
The agent is powered by the Claude Opus 5.5 model and integrates with over 6,000 connectors and plugins through the Claude Marketplace. It supports online purchases using Stripe Link or Shopify Shop Pay, though it is restricted from trading securities or transferring funds between accounts.
To ensure security, Anthropic implemented a classifier that prevents the leakage of sensitive information, such as credit card numbers or government IDs. The application is currently available in research preview for Pro and Max users on iOS, Android, and the web, with access managed via a waitlist.
