AMD CEO Lisa Su initiated the return of the Ryzen 7 5800X3D processor. The company performed extensive re-engineering and updated the manufacturing process with TSMC to facilitate this relaunch.

According to AMD representative Kirsch, the decision was finalized before the DDR5 memory shortages of mid-2026. The processor serves as a final upgrade option for users of the decade-old AM4 socket.

Regarding the entry-level market, AMD currently offers four Ryzen 3 processors. Kirsch noted that the company is primarily prioritizing the high-performance gaming segment.

AMD's market share in the CPU sector reached 48.4 percent, according to October Steam Survey data. The company continues to focus on providing product choices across various price points.
