Amazon announced a plan to invest over €16 billion in Germany during 2027. The commitment was disclosed at the Invest in Germany Summit in Berlin on October 20, 2026.

The largest portion of the funding, approximately €4.8 billion, is allocated to expanding the AWS Europe cloud region in Frankfurt and developing AI capabilities. The company will also establish a second robotics and AI research lab in Berlin.

The investment package includes the creation of over 3,000 logistics jobs and the execution of 24 rocket launches for the Leo satellite broadband constellation. Additionally, Amazon plans to produce more than 15 new German titles for Prime Video by the end of 2027.

This initiative is part of the broader Made for Germany program, which involves corporate pledges totaling €800 billion through 2028. Amazon has invested over €100 billion in Germany since 2010, including €15 billion spent in 2025.
