Airbus has delivered the first commercial aircraft assembled at its second final assembly line in Tianjin, China. The A320neo narrow-body jet was handed over to China Eastern Airlines, marking a milestone for the facility that officially launched operations on October 22, 2025.

The new production line is a key component of the manufacturer's global strategy to scale up the production of the A320 family. Airbus aims to reach a production rate of approximately 75 narrow-body aircraft per month by 2027, with the Tianjin site playing a central role in achieving this target.

Tianjin has been a strategic location for Airbus since 2008, when the company opened its first assembly line there, marking its first such facility outside of Europe. To date, the Tianjin plant has completed and delivered over 800 A320 family aircraft to various airlines.

The facility does not manufacture aircraft from scratch. It receives wings, fuselage sections, engines, and other systems from the global Airbus supply chain. The Chinese site focuses on final assembly, testing, and preparing the aircraft for delivery, primarily serving the needs of the Chinese market.
