Airbnb has introduced a new AI-powered search tool that allows users to find properties using text or voice prompts. The system features dynamic filters that adjust based on user input, such as suggesting amenities like cribs or playgrounds when searching for family-friendly options. Additionally, the platform now uses AI to generate summaries and reviews to help users compare properties saved in their wishlists.

CEO Brian Chesky stated that the company plans to iterate on the search functionality rapidly in the coming months. He emphasized the challenge of implementing AI in an e-commerce environment with a high volume of transactions without negatively impacting conversion rates. The company is avoiding a traditional chatbot-style interface for this update.

The platform is also expanding its service offerings, including meal and grocery delivery, laundry services, and rentals for baby gear, skis, and boats in select locations. These services were initially launched last year and are now being scaled as part of the company's broader effort to compete more directly with traditional hotel offerings.

Social features have been updated to allow users to view maps of past or upcoming trips taken by their connections. Travelers can see where their friends stayed and which experiences they booked. Users retain control over their privacy with an option to opt out of sharing trip details. Furthermore, Airbnb is creating neighborhood guides based on guest reviews to assist with travel planning.
