A resident of Liaocheng, Shandong, used the Doubao AI chatbot to identify symptoms of a stroke in his father. After the user entered symptoms including leg weakness and swallowing difficulties, along with the patient's medical history of high blood pressure, high blood sugar, and high blood lipids, the AI advised immediate medical attention.

The AI issued two warnings, stating that the symptoms were high-risk signs of a cerebral infarction. Following these prompts, the son took his father to the hospital overnight. Doctors confirmed an acute cerebral infarction, and the patient received intravenous thrombolysis within the 4.5-hour golden window, resulting in a successful recovery without sequelae.

Medical experts from the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences Fuwai Hospital noted that AI tools can assist in identifying urgent conditions and providing triage guidance. However, they emphasized that AI outputs should only serve as references for medical consultation and cannot replace professional diagnosis or clinical examination by doctors.

Data from the Third Medical Center of the PLA General Hospital indicates that intravenous thrombolysis within 4.5 hours of symptom onset improves the prognosis rate by 33%. Every minute of delay leads to the loss of millions of brain cells, highlighting the critical importance of time in treating cerebral infarction.
