San Francisco-based AI startup Town has achieved a unicorn valuation following a $108 million Series B funding round. The investment was co-led by Forerunner Ventures and Menlo Ventures, with additional participation from Andreessen Horowitz, Serena Ventures, and First Round Capital.
The company, founded by former Plaid CTO Jean-Denis Greze, launched its public operations four months ago. Since its inception, Town has secured at least $160 million in total funding, including a $55 million Series A round closed in June.
Town develops AI assistants for businesses, providing each employee with a tool called a Townie. These assistants integrate with corporate systems like email and calendars to automate tasks. The platform now allows Townies to communicate with each other and interact with external parties.
Alongside the funding announcement, the company introduced a shared workflow feature. This update enables the automatic synchronization of business information across all employee assistants, eliminating the need for manual updates by individual users.
