5C Group, a data center company spun off from Hypertec Group in April 2025, is considering an initial public offering. The company aims to raise capital to support its infrastructure expansion, which focuses on large-scale facilities optimized for artificial intelligence workloads.
The firm has secured over $1,4 billion in total funding to date. This includes an investment round of $835 million closed in July 2025, which was supported by Brookfield and Deutsche Bank.
The company plans to develop a total capacity of 2 GW across North America. Current projects include a 200 MW campus in Columbus, Ohio, as well as additional sites in Phoenix and Memphis.
Beyond its North American operations, 5C Group has scheduled an expansion into European markets by 2029. The company notes that this rollout will involve navigating specific regional challenges, such as energy regulations and permitting processes.
