A Zotac customer in India was denied warranty support for an RTX 3060 graphics card, despite having owned the device for only one year. The company stated that the warranty period had expired based on the distributor's import date of April 2023, rather than the customer's purchase date of June 2025.
Zotac's policy allows the warranty to be determined by either the purchase date or the import date. The company maintains that if a product is sold more than two years after its import, it cannot provide extended support. The customer noted that they registered the product shortly after purchase and received confirmation from the manufacturer.
The warranty terms on Zotac India's website state that coverage begins from the purchase or import date, but the policy does not explicitly define the conditions under which the import date takes precedence. The customer intends to seek a replacement from the retailer and may file a complaint with the National Consumer Helpline.
This incident follows a previous dispute in December 2025, when Zotac denied an RMA for an RTX 5070 Ti owner. In that case, the company cited physical damage to the PCB near the PCIe connector, attributing it to mechanical stress, and declined to provide further support.
