Zipline is currently in negotiations for a new funding round of approximately $1 billion. If successful, this investment would value the drone delivery company at $20 billion, nearly tripling its previous valuation of $7.6 billion established in January.

Paradigm, an existing investor, is in discussions to lead the new round, while Tiger Global is considering participation. The company has raised nearly $1.8 billion since its founding in 2014, and the new capital would push total funding beyond $2.7 billion.

The company, founded in 2014 by Keller Rinaudo Cliffton, Keenan Wyrobek, Ryan Oksenhorn, and Will Hetzler, has evolved from a medical logistics provider into a broad autonomous delivery platform. It operates both Platform 1 for long-range missions and Platform 2 for on-demand deliveries.

Zipline has established strategic partnerships with major retailers including Walmart and Uber. In August, the company and Uber announced a goal of reaching one million drone deliveries per day by the end of 2029, with initial services expected to launch before the end of 2026.

The firm reports having completed over two million commercial deliveries. It currently competes in the drone delivery market alongside companies such as Matternet, Wing, and Amazon Prime Air, all of which are working to optimize unit economics as regulatory requirements evolve.
