Yandex Maps has updated its AI-powered chat feature to assist students in navigating new cities. The tool now allows users to find locations situated between two specific points, such as a cafe located between a dormitory and a university building.
The neural network generates a route segment between the two selected landmarks and identifies suitable venues along that path. This update aims to provide more precise recommendations for places that are easily accessible by walking or public transport.
Additionally, the AI has improved its capability to search for venues near specific landmarks. When a user requests a place with particular criteria, such as a quiet cafe for working, the system identifies options in the immediate vicinity of the target location.
If the system cannot find a venue that meets all specified criteria near the landmark, it will either expand the search area or provide details on which requirements the suggested locations fail to satisfy.
