XPENG has been appointed as the OICA Secretary for the newly formed Task Force on Exchange of Scenario-Relevant Information (TF-ESRI). This body operates under the GRVA/WP.29 framework of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE).
The task force is co-chaired by representatives from France and China. Its primary objective is to facilitate the exchange of data regarding real-world automated driving experiences, including traffic behaviors, road environments, and safety performance metrics.
In its role as secretary, XPENG will coordinate administrative tasks and information sharing alongside the SAE International secretary. This initiative is supported by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).
The creation of TF-ESRI comes as international regulations, specifically UN R185 and GTR26, enter the implementation phase. The platform aims to assist regulators and developers in preparing for the global deployment of autonomous systems.
