Xpeng showcased its NGP VLA 2.0 intelligent driving system at the 2026 Paris Motor Show. The company conducted 30-minute supervised test drives of the L03 coupe SUV, also known as the Mona L03, on public roads in Paris.

The NGP system uses a combination of cameras, millimeter-wave radar, and ultrasonic sensors. This event marks the first large-scale test ride program for the technology in Europe, following smaller trials in Amsterdam and Munich.

The L03 model demonstrated the ability to navigate European traffic signs, roundabouts, and narrow streets. The system successfully identified pedestrians at zebra crossings and managed interactions with cyclists and trucks.

Xpeng established an R&D center in Munich in September 2025 to focus on localizing its driving software. Despite the progress, the company continues to refine lane-change decision-making and traffic merging capabilities.

The automaker plans to roll out NGP to European customers in Q1 2027. The system is expected to launch on models equipped with the Turing chip, including the P7+, X9, L03 Ultra, and G9L.
