Xiaomi has launched a crowdfunding campaign for the Smart Socket 4 on the Xiaomi Youpin platform. The device is currently available for ¥49, which is approximately $7.
The new model features a compact design measuring 52 x 41 x 57.6 mm. It is equipped with a new Chinese standard plug with insulated contacts and includes safety features such as protection against overheating, voltage spikes, overcurrent, and overload, alongside a child lock mechanism.
The socket supports Wi-Fi 6 connectivity at 2.4 GHz, eliminating the need for an external gateway. It utilizes MU-MIMO and OFDMA technologies to maintain stable performance in environments with multiple connected devices.
Integration with Xiaomi HyperOS Smart Connect allows users to manage the device via the Mi Home app. Users can remotely control appliances, set automation scenarios, and monitor energy consumption through a high-precision chip that tracks usage statistics.
The device supports local execution of timers and countdowns, ensuring that programmed scenarios remain active even if the internet connection is lost. Users can configure power limits within a range of 100 to 2500 W.
