Xiaomi has opened pre-orders for its new Smart Door Lock 5 Max on JD.com. The device is priced at ¥3529, with regional government subsidies reducing the cost to as low as ¥2999.65 for some customers.
The lock features a bridge-style design with an AG-treated panel and a glass-textured handle. It supports 12 unlocking methods, including 3D facial recognition and palm vein scanning. Facial recognition works for users between 1.2 and 2 meters tall, while the palm vein system allows contactless scanning from 10 to 20 centimeters away.
Equipped with a 2K camera offering a 192-degree field of view and dynamic night vision, the lock includes a 5-inch internal display for monitoring. Integrated AI models enable features like visitor loitering alerts and package detection, alongside security functions such as anti-tamper alarms and cross-device communication.
Power is supplied by two 8000 mAh batteries, providing a standard battery life of 11 months. When the charge drops below 10 percent, the device enters a power-saving mode that maintains basic unlocking capabilities for an additional 2.5 months.
