Xiaomi deployed two CyberOne 02 humanoid robots on its automotive assembly line for a test lasting 8 hours and 5 minutes. The robots were tasked with sorting side panels for the vehicle's center console, which involved retrieving parts from containers, orienting them correctly, and placing them into the assembly line racks.

The robots operated on the final assembly stage, coordinating with the production line system. Autonomous mobile robots delivered materials to the humanoids, which paused operations whenever transport carts were being replaced. During the trial, the robots required two recharging breaks at the 3-hour 2-minute and 6-hour 3-minute marks.

The company noted one incident where a robot dropped a panel, which was subsequently recovered by another robotic platform. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun stated that the humanoid form factor was chosen for its versatility, allowing the hardware to adapt to different tasks without physical modifications.

Despite the demonstration, Xiaomi did not disclose specific performance metrics, such as the total number of parts processed, the frequency of errors, or the duration of battery charging. The company also withheld details regarding battery capacity and the level of human intervention required during the shift.
