Xiaomi has opened pre-orders for the Smart Screen Switch 2 via a crowdfunding campaign. The device is available in white and space gray, with prices starting at ¥159. The unit features a 7.9 mm thick body made of composite organic glass, designed to match the aesthetics of the standard Xiaomi Smart Switch 2 series.
The integrated color screen displays the switch name, date, time, weather, and custom wallpapers, but does not support touch control. Users can choose from over 10 color themes and customize button labels. The device includes a 24 GHz millimeter-wave radar and a light sensor that detect human presence within a 90-degree sector to trigger screen activation and brightness adjustments.
The switch features four buttons divided into two groups. The lower physical switches control two light fixtures, while the upper buttons support single, double, and long-press actions for smart home scenarios. Wireless functionality requires a Bluetooth Mesh gateway for scene switching and weather synchronization.
The hardware is compatible with wiring setups that lack a neutral wire. It includes a built-in lithium-ion battery that charges while the connected lights are on. According to the manufacturer, ten minutes of daily light operation provides sufficient power to maintain the screen's display functionality when human presence is detected.
