Xiaomi has launched the Smart Door Lock 5C Cat Eye Edition, which is now available for purchase at a price of ¥999. The device features a new self-locking mechanism that automatically secures the door upon closing, eliminating the need to lift the handle.

The lock offers 11 unlocking methods, including AI fingerprint recognition, passwords, WeChat mini-programs, Mi Home app Bluetooth or remote access, and mechanical keys. Users can also utilize Xiaomi phones, watches, bracelets, or NFC cards to gain entry.

The integrated AI cat eye camera features a 1-megapixel sensor with a 160-degree wide-angle lens. It supports AI human detection, obstruction alerts, and low-light full-color night vision. Captured footage is stored via a 3-day rolling cloud storage system.

For security, the lock includes a C-grade cylinder and an internal clutch design to prevent forced entry. A 3.5-inch screen on the interior panel allows users to view visitors, and the system supports cross-device linkage with Xiaomi TVs and smartphones.

The dual-mode power system uses a 5000mAh lithium battery, rated for 5 months of use, and 4 AA alkaline batteries that provide 6 months of backup power. A Type-C port is available for emergency charging via a power bank.
