Xiaomi has officially launched its new smart door lock, the Xiaomi Smart Door Lock 5 Max, which is available in two versions starting from 20:00 today. The dual-camera model is priced at ¥4352, with a government subsidy bringing the cost down to ¥3699.2.
The device features a bridge structure with an AG-processed panel and a glass-textured handle. It supports 12 unlocking methods, including AI 3D facial recognition and palm vein scanning. Facial recognition works for heights between 1.2 m and 2 m, while palm vein scanning operates at a distance of 10 cm to 20 cm.
The dual-camera version introduces UWB proximity unlocking technology, allowing authorized devices to open the lock upon approach. It is equipped with a 192-degree 2K camera, a dynamic night vision system, and a 5-inch internal display for monitoring. AI models enable features like visitor loitering alerts and package detection.
The lock is powered by two 8000 mAh batteries, providing a standard battery life of 11 months. When the charge drops below 10 percent, the device enters a power-saving mode, which allows for an additional 2.5 months of basic operation. The system also includes security alerts for door tampering and forced entry.
