Xiaomi has opened pre-orders for its new 5C smart door lock with a built-in peephole camera. The device is currently priced at ¥999.6 after government subsidies, down from the standard retail price of ¥1176 on JD.com.
The lock features an upgraded self-locking mechanism that automatically secures the door upon closing without requiring the handle to be lifted. It includes a C-grade lock cylinder and an internal clutch design to prevent forced entry. The device supports 11 unlocking methods, including AI fingerprint recognition, passwords, NFC cards, and remote access via the Mi Home app.
The integrated AI-powered peephole camera offers a 160-degree wide-angle view with 1-megapixel resolution. It supports AI human detection, loitering alerts, and obstruction detection. Users can view live footage on a 3.5-inch internal display or via linked devices like Xiaomi TVs and smartphones, with 3-day rolling cloud storage included.
The system utilizes a dual-mode power supply, combining a 5000mAh lithium battery with four AA alkaline batteries. The lithium battery provides approximately 5 months of power, while the alkaline batteries offer an additional 6 months of backup for basic functions. A Type-C port is available for emergency power supply via a power bank.
