Xiaomi has introduced the WorldCast 3D camera movement feature for the Redmi K100 smartphone, which was officially released on October 27. This AI-powered tool allows users to transform static photos into 3D videos with simulated camera motions.
The technology utilizes the WorldCast visual generation framework, which analyzes the depth structure of an image to reconstruct a 3D scene. It then creates a virtual camera path, enabling movements such as panning, zooming, and tilting while maintaining the consistency of subjects.
Xiaomi stated that WorldCast serves as a foundation for future developments in controllable visual generation. The team plans to explore more complex camera movements, extended video generation, and 4D video production technologies based on this framework.
