Xiaomi has introduced the Door and Window Sensor 3, which is scheduled to launch via crowdfunding on October 12 at 10:00 AM. The device is priced at ¥44 for crowdfunding participants, while the recommended retail price is set at ¥49.

The new model features a tunnel magnetoresistance sensor, which the company claims offers faster response times and lower power consumption compared to the Hall effect sensor used in the previous generation. The device is powered by a CR2032 button battery, providing a battery life of up to 3 years.

Users can monitor the status of doors, windows, drawers, and cabinets through the Mi Home app. The sensor requires a Bluetooth Mesh gateway for remote connectivity. It tracks opening and closing records, daily counts, and duration, while sending low-battery alerts and notifications for abnormal status.

The sensor is designed for narrow spaces and includes installation guides on the body to prevent incorrect mounting. It integrates with the Xiaomi HyperOS ecosystem, allowing for automated scenarios such as turning on lights or adjusting air conditioning based on the sensor's status.
