Microsoft has released an October cumulative update for Windows 11, which includes significant improvements to Bluetooth connectivity. The update specifically targets the pairing process for Apple AirPods, reducing the time required for connection by up to 15 seconds.

The enhancements are bundled within Windows 11 build 26200.8737. Microsoft notes that actual performance gains may vary depending on the specific AirPods model, device configuration, and usage patterns. The update is being rolled out in stages, meaning some users may need to wait several weeks before the changes take effect.

Beyond pairing speed, the update addresses stability for audio playback and voice calls. Users can now see a volume overlay when adjusting call volume via physical or touch controls on their headphones. Additionally, Microsoft has improved microphone compatibility to reduce audio stuttering issues.

Prior to this update, Windows 11 users reported issues with Bluetooth pairing, including connection timeouts and processes that could take several minutes. Independent observations suggest that the update also improves pairing speeds for Samsung Galaxy Buds by approximately 20 percent.
