Waymo is planning to launch its robotaxi service in Singapore by 2028. The company has already established a local corporate entity and participates in the Singapore Steering Committee on Autonomous Vehicles.

Before launching passenger services, Waymo must obtain approval from the Land Transport Authority. The company is required to pass safety assessments at the Centre of Excellence for Testing and Research.

Waymo vehicles are scheduled to arrive in Singapore in the coming months to begin mapping and autonomous testing. This expansion follows the company's growth in the United States, the UK, Germany, and Japan.

Co-CEO Tekedra Mawakana stated that Singapore's transportation ecosystem aligns with the company's focus on reliability and sustainability. The government remains involved in the testing and rollout process.
