Waymo has officially launched autonomous shuttle services at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas. Passengers can now access dedicated pickup and drop-off points located at Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 of the airport.
This expansion marks the sixth major airport served by the company. Waymo already operates at airports in Phoenix, Nashville, San Antonio, San Francisco, and San Jose. The service in Las Vegas currently covers a 24-square-mile area.
The airport service is initially restricted to a limited number of users before a broader rollout. The company began public operations in Las Vegas only in September, following a rapid expansion of its autonomous fleet.
Competition in the Las Vegas market is intensifying. Amazon-owned Zoox already provides airport rides, and state regulators recently approved permits for Tesla and Uber to deploy thousands of robotaxis in the city over the next year.
