Water, a brand of the South Korean company Brite Energy Partners, is launching 23 new fast-charging sites along the country's highway network. The project aims to install 123 chargers in total, with 62 units providing 400 kW, 46 units offering 200 kW, and 15 units delivering 100 kW of power.
The first station is already operational at the Cheongju Rest Area on the Gyeongbu Expressway. Each new site will feature at least two 400 kW chargers, which are designed to support electric vehicles with 800-volt architectures. All 123 chargers will be equipped with both NACS and DC Combo connectors.
Tesla owners will be able to use the NACS connectors to achieve charging speeds between 120 and 200 kW, depending on the specific vehicle model. The new infrastructure is being deployed across the Gyeonggi, Chungcheong, Gangwon, and Gyeongsang regions to expand the company's national footprint.
To mark the launch, Water is offering a promotional rate of ₩294 per kWh for members for one year. This price is approximately ₩100 per kWh lower than the roaming tariff set by the Ministry of Climate, Energy, and Environment for high-output chargers.
Upon completion of the 23 sites, the Water network will encompass 397 chargers across 73 highway rest areas. The expansion is part of a broader project led by the Korea Expressway Corporation to improve charging infrastructure for electric vehicle drivers on major transit routes.
