French startup Voltaback has secured €2.8 million in a funding round led by the European investment fund Serena. Additional participants include business angels such as Electra co-founder Aurélien de Meaux and Sequoia Scout Maxime Brousse. The company plans to use the capital to expand its operations into six European countries and grow its team.

The Voltaback software platform manages corporate fleet data without requiring extra hardware. It primarily automates the reimbursement process for employees charging company electric vehicles at home. The system integrates data from electricity bills and vehicle sensors to calculate costs, a method validated by Bureau Veritas and approved by the French social security agency URSSAF.

The company reports that its platform is currently used by 20 percent of CAC 40 firms, including clients like Veolia, BNP Paribas, and Sodexo. Veolia is currently deploying the software across its fleet of over 6,000 electric vehicles. The platform has since expanded to track mileage and CSR indicators for both electric and combustion-engine vehicles.

According to co-founder Arnaud Tran, failing to reimburse home charging costs employees €600 annually and costs companies up to €2,000 per vehicle. The market for such solutions is growing as electric vehicle adoption increases; in the first half of 2026, electric cars accounted for 28.2 percent of new passenger vehicle registrations in France.
