Vinci4D Inc. has secured $250 million in a Series B funding round, reaching a valuation of $1.5 billion. The investment was co-led by Advent International, Temasek, and Xora.
The startup develops simulation software for semiconductor design based on pretrained physics models. This technology allows engineers to analyze multiple physical phenomena simultaneously, serving as an alternative to traditional methods like finite element analysis.
Unlike systems that rely on customer data, Vinci4D trains its models on fundamental physics equations. This approach protects proprietary design information and aims to reduce the time and costs associated with complex simulations.
The company is shifting its focus toward System Technology Co-Optimization, treating chip design as an integral part of a larger system. This methodology helps designers understand the interactions between chips, packages, and boards.
Following the funding round, Vinci4D plans to scale its operations and expand into new hardware sectors. The company intends to apply its physics-based simulation technology to the automotive and aerospace industries.
