Helsinki-based Verda Cloud Oy, formerly known as DataCrunch, has secured $189 million in a Series B funding round. The investment was led by Emergence Capital, with participation from MUFG Innovation Partners, Supermicro, Varma Mutual Pension Insurance Co., Lifeline Ventures, 6 Degrees Capital, byFounders, and Tesi. Several angel investors, including executives from Meta Platforms and Core Automation, also contributed to the round.

The company has now raised a total of over $450 million in equity and debt. Verda plans to utilize these funds to expand its AI cloud infrastructure and platform services. The company currently supports AI workloads for organizations in more than 50 countries, including Aleph Alpha, Magnific, and Epsilon Health. The capital will also support the development of new features and tools to improve the developer experience.

Verda aims to operate more than 250 megawatts of capacity by 2027. The company is currently active in Finland and plans to expand its data center footprint across Europe, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Asia. Additionally, the firm is preparing to deploy Nvidia VR200 NVL72 rack-scale supercomputers in the coming months to enhance its managed AI inference capabilities for enterprise clients.

The company maintains an internal AI lab focused on engineering challenges such as GPU utilization and kernel optimization. This research informs the product roadmap and helps the firm adapt to evolving AI workloads, which now increasingly involve longer sessions and agentic use cases. Verda intends to collaborate with other research labs and open-source projects to further refine its infrastructure.
