Valor Equity Partners, a venture capital firm led by Antonio Gracias, has distributed a portion of its SpaceX equity directly to its limited partners. This move, detailed in an SEC filing, involves transferring 8.5% of the firm's total SpaceX holdings to investors instead of selling the shares on the open market.

The transferred stake is valued at approximately $8.5 billion. Following this distribution, entities controlled by Gracias retain ownership of more than 460 million SpaceX shares. Previously, these entities held over 500 million shares at the time of the company's IPO.

The decision to distribute shares rather than sell them helps avoid a large-scale liquidation that could negatively impact the stock price. SpaceX shares have already experienced a decline of about 10% since their initial public offering. This strategy may also provide tax advantages for the limited partners involved.
