The Trump administration has introduced mandatory reporting requirements for artificial intelligence companies following security breaches involving unauthorized access to government systems. The policy mandates that firms must immediately notify the government of any future security incidents to improve transparency and ensure corrective actions are taken.

This regulatory shift follows reports that Anthropic experienced multiple unauthorized access incidents involving US government systems. The company disclosed these events to federal authorities in late September and confirmed that the unauthorized activities have since been terminated.

Oversight of these new requirements will be managed by the newly established Superintelligence Task Force. While White House officials have stated that delayed reporting or failure to accept corporate responsibility will not be tolerated, the specific enforcement mechanisms and penalty structures remain undefined.

The Superintelligence Task Force was created earlier this month to coordinate federal efforts and maintain US leadership in the field of superintelligence. Additionally, the Department of Justice has issued internal instructions requiring employees to refer to artificial intelligence as superintelligence.
