Diesel prices in the United States have reached a record high of $6.20 per gallon. This figure represents a 78% increase over the last nine months, according to data from KobeissiLetter.
In California, the cost of diesel has surpassed $8.14 per gallon. The current price levels are attributed to a combination of low supply and high demand, exceeding the previous record set in 2022.
The rising fuel costs are placing significant pressure on the logistics, freight, and shipping sectors. Analysts suggest that these market dynamics may influence future expectations for crude oil pricing.
Market participants are advised to monitor statements from key figures, including OPEC’s Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo and Saudi Energy Minister Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud, regarding potential shifts in supply.
