Upwind, a cloud and AI security startup based in San Francisco, has secured $400 million in a Series C funding round. This investment brings the company's valuation to $3.8 billion. The round was led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with participation from Canapi Ventures and existing investors including Cyberstarts, Greylock Partners, Craft Ventures, Salesforce Ventures, and Picture Capital.
The company was founded in 2022 by Amiram Shachar, Liran Polak, Lavi Ferdman, and Tal Zur. As of January, the startup employed over 300 people across offices in the US, UK, and Israel. Its platform provides real-time monitoring for cloud workloads, APIs, and AI agents, serving hundreds of organizations such as Siemens, Roku, Carvana, Nubank, Supabase, and ClickUp.
Upwind reported that its annual recurring revenue grew from approximately $20 million at the end of 2025 to over $50 million. The company recently rejected a takeover bid from Datadog, which reportedly offered nearly $4 billion for the business. The new funding will be used to accelerate product development and expand security capabilities for cloud and AI infrastructure.
The market for cloud security is highly competitive, with major players like Wiz, Palo Alto, and CrowdStrike. Analysts at Dell’Oro project the market will reach $12.9 billion by 2030, with an annual growth rate of nearly 30 percent from 2025. Other startups in the sector, such as Armadin and Glow, have also recently secured significant funding rounds.
