United Dairy Farmers (UDF) is set to install Electric Era DC fast-charging stations at six locations across Greater Cincinnati and Columbus. The project is supported by the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program in Ohio, with UDF collaborating with the Ohio Department of Transportation and local utility partners to secure the necessary grant funding.
The chosen sites are recent store additions situated near major highways, featuring amenities such as expanded food options and seating areas. The Electric Era technology utilizes on-site battery storage and proprietary software to manage grid demand, optimize power delivery, and maintain performance levels even when grid capacity is constrained.
The new charging infrastructure will be integrated into the existing U-Drive Plus loyalty program, enabling members to earn credits for charging sessions. UDF plans to launch these stations in early 2027 and will monitor customer usage and charging demand to determine the feasibility of future network expansion.
