The United Engine Corporation (UEC) is developing the GTD-8SM, an 8 MW intellectual gas turbine engine designed for power generation. The project aims to supply electricity to data centers and industrial facilities. The engine is based on the AL-31ST gas generator and will feature an advanced control system alongside a digital twin for real-time performance monitoring.

The GTD-8SM features a modular design, allowing for the replacement of individual components like the compressor module or combustion chamber without dismantling the entire unit. This approach is intended to reduce maintenance time and operational downtime. The engine is designed to operate in temperatures ranging from -60 to +40 degrees Celsius.

The engine is expected to achieve an efficiency rate exceeding 30%. Its service life is projected at 120,000 hours, with a 30,000-hour interval between major repairs. The development is being carried out by UEC-Salut, while UEC-Engineering manages the supply of the equipment. The first prototype is scheduled for production in 2028.
