Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi announced that savings from recent layoffs will be reinvested into lower prices and service expansion. The company cut 3,300 jobs, representing about 10% of its global workforce, as part of a restructuring effort to flatten the organizational hierarchy and improve decision-making speed.

The company reported Q2 2026 revenue of $14,19 billion, marking a 12% year-over-year increase, while adjusted earnings per share reached $0,81. Full-year 2025 revenue totaled approximately $52 billion. Wall Street responded positively to the restructuring, with Uber stock seeing a modest increase.

Strategic shifts include a focus on autonomous vehicle technology, with over $10 billion committed to partnerships in this sector to compete with Waymo. Additionally, Uber is restricting remote work to roughly 1% of staff and exiting operations in Nigeria and Uganda.
