Uber Eats has announced the acquisition of the catering platform ezCater in an all-cash deal valued at $2.3 billion. The transaction aims to integrate ezCater’s B2B expertise and network with the global infrastructure of Uber Eats and the corporate relationships of Uber for Business.

The ezCater platform currently provides access to over 140 000 restaurants across the United States. It offers specialized tools for managing corporate food orders, recurring events, and enterprise catering needs, supported by a 24/7 customer service infrastructure.

Financial data indicates that ezCater generated more than $2.5 billion in gross bookings over the past 12 months. The platform maintains an average order value exceeding $400, which Uber expects will provide a significant new revenue stream for its restaurant partners.

The integration is intended to expand the reach of catering services to millions of additional customers. For restaurant partners, the deal serves as a growth channel for larger orders, while Uber Eats couriers gain access to new earning opportunities through the expanded service scope.
