The Trump T1 smartphone, priced at $749, recently underwent a durability assessment by the content creator JerryRigEverything. During the physical stress tests, the device demonstrated standard resistance levels, with screen scratches appearing at Mohs hardness level 6 and deeper marks at level 7. The metal frame remained intact without structural failure when subjected to bending pressure from both sides.
Despite the exterior durability, a teardown revealed that the T1 is essentially a rebranded HTC U24 Pro, which was released in 2024. A side-by-side comparison showed identical internal layouts, including the positioning of the motherboard, battery, and secondary board components. Even the model numbers printed on the internal hardware components match those found in the HTC device.
The physical dimensions, button placement, headphone jack, and memory card slot are also identical between the two models. The primary modifications made to the T1 consist of a gold-colored plastic back cover and a redesigned camera module. To confirm the hardware compatibility, the tester successfully swapped the motherboards between the two devices, allowing both to boot up normally.
