US President Donald Trump announced plans to establish an 'AI Force' to oversee the development of artificial intelligence. The initiative will be led by an official referred to as the 'AI Czar,' a role requiring high intellectual capacity.

Trump compared the new agency to the US Space Force, which he established during his previous term. He stated that the administration will not hinder the growth of the AI industry, emphasizing the need to maintain a competitive edge against China.

The president dismissed concerns regarding AI risks as a hoax, arguing that existing criminal and civil justice systems are sufficient to address potential abuses. He prioritized economic benefits and global leadership in the AI race over calls for development slowdowns.

Despite the stance on deregulation, the White House confirmed to CNN that AI safety will be a topic of discussion during an upcoming meeting between Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
