Toyota and Honda have temporarily halted vehicle production at several plants in Thailand due to severe flooding. The natural disaster, caused by prolonged monsoon rains, has disrupted supply chains and prevented the timely delivery of essential components to assembly lines.

Honda suspended operations at its facilities in Prachinburi and Ayutthaya provinces from October 2 to October 6, 2026. The company produces models including the Accord, HR-V, CR-V, and Civic at these sites. Koji Iwanami, head of Honda's Thai division, confirmed that flooding in various regions caused the logistics failures.

Toyota has also paused production at three assembly plants in Samut Prakan and Chachoengsao provinces, as well as at the Toyota Auto Works facility. The manufacturer is currently seeking alternative logistics routes to resume operations. The Thai plants produce the Hilux, Yaris Cross, Corolla, and Camry models.

The Federation of Thai Industries estimates that the supply chain disruptions have caused losses totaling THB 1.018 billion, which is approximately $30 million. The flooding has impacted over 2.6 million residents across the country, with Bangkok declaring a state of disaster on September 26.
