TikTok has introduced an AI-powered shopping assistant and a one-click checkout feature to streamline the purchasing process. The conversational AI agent is designed to provide real-time guidance, including product details, shipping information, and sizing, while retaining user preferences during interactions.

The new checkout functionality allows users to purchase items directly from brands within the For You feed. This integration aims to keep users within the platform for the entire shopping journey, reducing the need to switch to external tools or navigate away from the main video feed.

The platform developed these features in collaboration with commerce and payment partners, including Salesforce, Shopify, Shoplazza, and Stripe. This move expands TikTok's e-commerce capabilities beyond its dedicated TikTok Shop hub, embedding shopping tools deeper into the app's core experience.

Data from the company's recent report indicates that activity on the platform contributed $81 billion to the GDP of U.S. businesses, with 54 million Americans reporting purchases after viewing TikTok videos. Market research firm eMarketer estimates TikTok Shop generated $15.8 billion in U.S. sales in 2025.
