A growing number of AI agents are designed to function directly within messaging apps, allowing users to delegate tasks without installing dedicated software. These assistants connect to existing services like calendars and email to manage schedules, research, and shopping.
Instinct is currently a prominent player in the space, recently raising $1 billion at a $10 billion valuation. Other notable agents include Ask Proxy, which offers business plans starting at $15 per employee, and Maverick, which provides a Pro version for approximately $30.25 per month.
Family-oriented tools like Fambot, Ohai, and Ollie aim to centralize household information from school communications and calendars. Fambot raised $3.5 million in pre-seed funding, while Ollie differentiates itself by achieving SOC 2 security compliance with plans starting at $25 per month.
General-purpose assistants like Folk and Poke offer diverse integration capabilities. Folk, which launched its beta in May 2026, charges $8.33 per month for its Pro tier. Poke was acquired by Cognition in a deal valued in the low nine-figure range following its approval for Apple Messages for Business.
Other specialized agents include Miso for travel planning and Stanley, which assists content creators by managing publishing schedules and generating assets from voice notes. These platforms typically leverage existing messaging infrastructure like iMessage, WhatsApp, and Telegram to maintain user context.
